Physics Heist by S.M. Professor
The story behind India's most rigorous physics education platform — and the man who built it from scratch by choosing students over a government laboratory.
Basic JEE to Olympiad Unfiltered · A-to-Z in One Batch · 50% Enrolled are Teachers
The Indian physics education system has a problem. There are textbooks. There are coaching institutes. There are "star teachers" with millions of followers. But very few people who actually understand physics at the level it deserves to be taught.
S.M. Professor was never supposed to be a teacher. He graduated from IIT Kanpur, contributed to NASA-sponsored research projects, and was on track for a prestigious Scientist role at BARC — the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. That was the plan.
Then he looked at how physics was being taught to the students who needed it most — JEE aspirants, Olympiad hopefuls, the top 1% of science students in India — and he saw a gap so wide, he couldn't ignore it. He gave up the lab. He chose the classroom.
That decision became Physics Heist.
The Journey
Not a shortcut. Not a coaching centre product. A physicist with a rare pedigree who chose to put it all in service of one mission: make physics understood.
The Decision
When SM Professor declined the BARC offer, he wasn't walking away from a career. He was walking toward a responsibility. Thousands of students every year sit through physics lectures taught by people who know the exam, but don't know the physics. They memorise derivations they don't understand. They solve problems by pattern recognition, not by thinking.
That's what he couldn't accept. Physics is one of the most beautiful, coherent, and logically satisfying disciplines ever developed by the human mind. To reduce it to a set of tricks for an entrance exam is a kind of violence against both the subject and the student.

What This Means
Others teach — they cover syllabus, deliver lectures, hand you notes. Professor makes you understand. There's a profound difference between a student who can reproduce a solution and a student who can derive it from scratch at 2am under pressure. Physics Heist is built to produce the second kind.
Our Philosophy
Six principles that govern every lecture, every problem set, every handout, every word uttered in a Physics Heist session.
A formula memorised is a formula forgotten. A principle understood is a principle owned forever. Every concept in Physics Heist is built from the ground up — not given as a result to memorise.
The smartest solutions are almost always the deepest ones. SM Professor's methods prove that when you truly understand a problem, the solution becomes elegant and fast — not slow and laborious.
We don't believe in "good enough for JEE." We hold every student to the Olympiad standard — because when you train at that level, JEE Advanced becomes the easier problem in the room.
Irodov, Griffiths, Morin, Krotov — these are not intimidating obstacles. They are the finest physics thinking humanity has produced. Physics Heist makes you fluent in their language.
Hinglish is not a compromise — it is a deliberate design choice. When a student isn't spending energy decoding language, all of that energy goes toward decoding physics. That's how it should be.
Not a career teacher who never left the classroom. A physicist who spent time at NASA, declined BARC, and then chose to teach. The difference in perspective — and therefore in teaching — is enormous.
Physics Heist in Numbers
Why "Heist"?
The name is deliberate. A heist is an act of taking something that has been locked away and inaccessibly guarded — and bringing it to those who deserve it.
Deep physics — the real kind, the Griffiths and Morin kind, the Olympiad kind — has been locked inside elite institutions, dense foreign textbooks, and a handful of exceptional teachers most students never get access to. That's the heist: bringing that level of physics to every student who is serious enough to want it.
No gatekeeping. No dilution. Just physics, taught the way a scientist who actually practiced it would teach it.

The Proof
The most credible endorsement of a physics course isn't a student testimonial. It's the fact that working physics teachers — people who teach this subject for a living — enroll to learn from it themselves.
Half of every cohort in the INPHO [NSEP to IPhO] batch consists of working educators who want to upgrade their own understanding. That's not a marketing number. That's a quality signal.
Working educators have seen hundreds of courses, textbooks, and teaching styles. When they open their wallets for a course, it means something real: they've found depth they haven't seen elsewhere.
Teachers don't enroll for hype. They enroll because the content genuinely advances their understanding of physics — the Olympiad-level theory, the smartest methods, the Griffiths-level depth.
If the people who teach physics find this course transformative, imagine what it does for a student with fresh eyes and full commitment. The bar is set at teacher-level. You rise to meet it.
Our Mission
Not dumbed down. Not dressed up. Just real physics, taught by someone who has lived it — clearly enough that any serious student can own it.
